Delhi Government to start Camps and Helpline for GST

GST is a new form indirect tax that can be implemented in India in the early monsoon. On Account of that Delhi Government will introduce training camps in the markets from next week to give information to the small traders of GST technical nuances. This program will be organized with the participation industry organization CII. There will some workshops to small traders and introduction of helpline number for all the questions related to GST.
 
It is expected that the Delhi government will have a special session of the Assembly on Tuesday to pass state GST bill. An official of the VAT department said that after 15th May, awareness and training camps will be organized in some markets with trade associations, where traders will be able to get all information related to GST Compliance. Only 2.70 lakh have registered an have migrated on GST portal in the department among 4 lakh traders have migrated to GST portal.
 
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and CII officials met on preparations of GST and training program of traders. This meeting was about discussion on starting a helpline and conducting workshop for the traders. The organization is already working on this and will keep a roadmap in front of the government in the next few days.
Many local issues have to be discussed in the assembly session, but it has to pass the most important GST bill. So far 10 states have approved the SGST bill.Of the traders with turnover less than 1.5 crore, 90% will follow the state government, while 50% of the turnover of more than Rs 1.5 crore will come under the state.
 
The VAT department official said that after getting the SGST bill in the state assembly and after getting notified, the department also needs about one month time so that it can bring the whole system back on track. The Department had organized a workshop for migrations in GST of Traders in January-February. Regarding not being able to migrate about 30% of registered dealers so far, the official said that it was delayed due to mis-mailing of their PAN card and other documents.
